The Garden Apartment at Thrumster House is set in 20 acres woodland and gardens .
The house is situated in the ancient landscape of Caithness, rich in history and
stunning scenery with cliff edged coast-line and the start of the flow country being
Britain’s last real wilderness. The Yarrows Archeological Trail is on the estate which
is one of the most important Neolithic and iron age landscapes in Scotland
Only half an hour from John O’groats and the Castle of Mey. 5 miles from Wick where
the world famous Old Pulteney is distilled.
Caithness is also famous for it’s wild brown trout fishing, the Garden apartment
comes with fishing on 5 lochs. We have a local fishing guide who offers half days
or whole days tuition and ghillying services.
There are often archeological digs in the summer which welcome volunteers, with
or without previous experience.
